As a vital member of our team, you will be the Civil 3D CAD Designer in our Dallas/Fort Worth office. The work you’ll be apart of will span geographic areas, domestic and international territory. Here at Jacobs our Designers are also performing engineering tasks to stay sharp on design.
This individual must be skilled in the use of Autodesk Civil 3D to perform the following tasks: creating alignments, creating surfaces and contours, generating plan and profile sheets, creating roadway corridors, and using Civil 3D styles for labeling. Drafting/CAD skills are required to visualize and portray complex design features. In this position, the individual will be required to work closely with a team of Civil Engineers and Technicians on a variety of projects. Use of established company and/or client standards for drafting including layer names; line and character styles; drawings and file names for sheet layout is also required.
Additional responsibilities include:
Analyze sketches, notes and other input material to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete drawings with supervision
Work closely with design originator and Project Managers
Inform Project Manager(s) of progress on assigned projects and request work or additional resources when needed
Flexible in work assignments and team assignments
Research regulatory requirements and design standards
Maintain all revisions of project drawings
Review drawings for completeness

Here’s What You’ll Need:
Associate's degree or certificate in Drafting Design
United States Citizenship
At least 3 years of land/site development drafting experience
At least 3 years of Civil 3D
Proficiency in latest version of AutoCAD
Experience with MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
Self-motivated with the ability to deliver excellent service
Able to manage and multitask work in a fast-paced environment
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
Ability to perform non-routine and complex assignments from verbal instructions
Experience on Federal, Mission Critical, and/or municipal projects
Experience with Bluebeam Software
