As a vital member of our team, you will be the client facing Lead Civil Engineer at the Dallas and/or Fort Worth office. The work you’ll be a part of will span geographic areas, domestic and international territory. When able, travel to various sites may be needed in order to be a liaison between clients and agencies, subcontractors, and the design team. Here at Jacobs our Lead Civil Engineers are also performing engineers with the ability to stay sharp on design. This position does include some project management responsibilities. Responsibilities

  • Preparation of conceptual design and construction documents using Bluebeam and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D

  • Preparation of investigative design reports and studies

  • Project coordination with in-house engineering and architects and outside consultants

  • Supervise and mentor junior staff

  • Working under the general supervision of the team leader, direct, coordinate, and exercise functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects within the team.

  • Review plans and prepare or reviews technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates

  • Provide lead or technical specialist direction for major phases of large land/site development related projects

  • Supervise the design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with City, State, County officials, and other outside agencies.

  • Resolve a variety of complex problems, (i.e. conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements), and consult with team as necessary.

  • Participates in contract bidding and administration; observes project action on site.

  • Requires confidentiality with clients and projects. Projects extend to Mission Critical work for private and Federal clients.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent

  • Professional Engineering, P.E. registration in any state within the US.

  • Experience with site, grading, paving, and drainage projects

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:  

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in related field

  • Domestic and international travel flexibility

  • Experience on Federal, Mission Critical, and/or municipal projects is preferred.

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
