Jacobs Water Resource Engineer - Entry Level in San Diego, California

As a global supply and demand for water intensifies, solving, the world's most complex water challenges demands different thinking- and that where we come in.

We're seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our team in our San Diego Office. Someone who can use their vast experience in the water industry and apply it to today's challenges.

As a valued Jacobs employee, you will focus on regional and statewide resources planning and management with a strong emphasis on watershed resilience planning, water resources system, climate and hydrology, and coastal resilience. Project work could include technical evaluations in support of climate risk, system dynamics model development and application, coastal and estuarine hydrodynamics and water quality, water supply planning, master plans, watershed protection, surface water and groundwater hydrology, and drainage/flood control. Ideal candidates would have an understanding of water resources, climate change and resiliency, and costal processes. Must have previous numerical modeling experience related to water resources systems. Must have the ability to work with clinets and client service managers to help procure and deliver projects. Work will be reviewed for quality and as part of a mentoring process.

Bachelor's degree in civil, chemical, environmental or mechanical engineering.

  • 1-2 years of Professional experience in relevant water resources engineering.

  • Demonstrated understanding of water resource engineering, planning, and numerical modeling

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral

  • Self-motivated, initiator; demonstrated through professional society involvements or related activities

Ideally, You'll Also Have:

M.S degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent. EIT desired with two or more years of experience. Position requires excellent oral and written communications, self-motivation, team-oriented work practices, strong data analysis, and technical problem solving, strong organizational skills, multitasking ability and excellent computer skills. Knowledge of CA water issues is beneficial. computer modeling, programming, and GIS experience is highly desirable.
