Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Discipline Director, Senior Project Architect, or Discipline Specialist, this role researches, programs, plans, designs, and administers building projects for clients, applying knowledge of architectural design, construction detailing, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials for clients according to their desires, needs, and financial resources.

  • Coordinate an interdisciplinary team to develop complex scope (Science & Technology sector and light industrial projects experience preferred)

  • Resolves design, construction and other technical issues with the design team.

  • Lead the production of documents required for owner, agency approval, bidding and construction; including drawings, specifications, project manuals, design narratives and code analysis.

  • Construction Contract administration, including timely responses to RFI, reviews of submittals, performing on-site observation, writing of field reports, and participation at owner/architect/contractor meetings.

  • Prepare client project presentations studies / reports, diagrams and illustrations for client communication with clarity and design excellence during project delivery.

  • Utilizes computer-assisted design software and equipment to prepare project designs and plans

  • May direct activities of workers engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents for the Conceptual Design Phase, Schematic Design Phase, and/or the Detailed Design Phase of a project

  • Monitors architectural project scope development and changes, tracking adjustments to the projected project construction cost

  • May conducts periodic on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with detailed design documents

  • Effectively manage communications, relationships, and expectations of work with all members of the design team, stakeholders, owners and project managers.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4-7 years' related experience is required

  • BA/BS or Bachelors in Architecture in an accredited program is required

  • Architecture registration or Intern Development Program candidate is required

  • Demonstrated program experience in the usage of Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, basic rendering and publishing programs, and Microsoft Office suite are required

  • Familiarity with building code requirements is required

  • Strong organizational, communications (both verbal and written) skills, and leadership abilities is required

  • Ability to effectively coordinate with internal architectural and engineering team members is required

  • Master's Degree in Architecture is preferred

  • Project Management experience is preferred

  • Participation in professional organizations is preferred
