We're looking for a Lead Piping Engineer in San Francisco or Irvine, CA location who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients’ business. Join us and you’ll have the chance to work on projects including state of the art life sciences facilities. The individual will be part of Strategic Growth group to deliver efficient ways to deliver projects to clients in the western region. The individual will be leading technical development for young engineers along with a drive to expand automation/ instrumentation and controls business for the group. You’ll be accountable for schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks, as you gain familiarity with the client’s expectations, scope, budget and schedule. Effectively recognize and communicate scope and design changes promptly. Your multi-discipline, highly interactive team will develop and design a variety of equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for life sciences projects.

You’ll also have the chance to utilize your technical expertise to mentor other professionals, and build a team for project executions, helping your team discover what drives them, nurturing their purpose and guiding them forward. You’ll develop conceptual and basis of design approaches and documentation including MTO lists for estimation support. You will lead a team to execute detailed design deliverables. You will develop isometrics, piping design and construction drawings to deliver a project. You will coordinate with hygienic piping contractors for different project execution approaches including design-bid and design assist

Here’s What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

• At least 15+ years of experience in life sciences market sector projects

• Professional Engineer (PE) required.

• Experience in leading, managing and supervising a team of engineers

• Advanced knowledge of AutoCad, Microstation, Navisworks, PDS and Revit

• Knowledge of isometrics drawings.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

• Master’s Degree preferred

• Business Development experience

• Strong communication skills both verbal and written

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas

• Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base

• Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams

• Passion for buildings and construction
