As a Resilience and Urban Planner based in San Francisco you’ll have the opportunity to use your specialized in-depth knowledge and play a role in all stages of planning and designing innovative and challenging projects that have a positive impact on our communities. You’ll play a key role in engaging with the public and stakeholders for a variety of cross-market resilience projects for a diverse public and private client base. You’ll work independently and lead teams to solve a range of complex problems as you grow your career. You’ll challenge the accepted to deliver sustainable and iconic projects.

As a modified full-time employee, we’ll give you the flexibility to work anywhere between 21-39 hours per week. Eligible employees may also enroll in a deferred compensation plan or the Executive Deferral Plan. Employees in a modified full-time status will receive PTO based upon number of hours worked. And certain roles may be eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, performance discretionary bonus, and stock.

The base salary range for this position is $138,000 to $215,700. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Bachelors Degree in Urban Planning, or a related field  

  • A minimum of 15 years experience in urban planning with at least 5 of those focused on resilience and adaptation to a changing climate

  • Ability to work both individually and as part of a collaborative team contributing to the preparation of resilient and adaptable plans and designs for a diverse range of projects 

  • Experience and comfort taking a leading role in public involvement, agency coordination and interfacing with stakeholders and professionals 

  • The ability to bring together a wide variety of stakeholders with conflicting interests and needs, and help them reach a consensus that meets with project aims and objectives.

  • A desire to innovate and deliver value for our Clients, our communities and the planet

     Ideally, You’ll Also Have:  

  • Masters Degree in Urban Planning or a related field

  • At least 5 years experience building and leading diverse teams of individuals and sub-consultants

  • Connections within San Francisco and the Bay Area

  • Experience working with existing and potential clients to generate opportunities to work together to solve their biggest challenges
