Jacobs Caltrans Permit Specialist (Northern California) in San Jose, California

Jacobs has an exciting opportunity for a Caltrans Permit Specialist to work for one of our large clients. In this role, you will work directly with the client to enhance their Caltrans permit program, including working with a dynamic team, collecting project data and efficiently submitting deliverables to help our team deliver projects in a top-quality, timely, cost-effective manner.
Responsibilities:
Working directly with the client · Collect data and assemble Caltrans permit applications. · Review engineering drawings- including Traffic Control Plans, Design Standard Decision Documents (DSDDs), and Utility/Encroachment Permit Policy Exceptions for Caltrans submission. · Attend/ participate in team meetings in support of project development and to review engineering drawings with team. This is a REMOTE position, however, you will need to reside in (or willing to relocate to) the Northern California area, (from the Oregon border to Bakersfield, in CA) to be considered

Requirements
· 2-5 years’ experience (highway design, traffic operations/design/management, highway construction, and project management) with Caltrans. · 2-5 years’ experience working with California utility companies.
· Bachelor’s degree.
Qualifications
· Working knowledge of Caltrans specific policies, procedures, general and special provisions, and standards specifications and guidelines. · Proven experience of working directly in a consulting environment.
