Description

Network Engineer to support the Exercises and Wargames on IRES (EWI). Duties include assisting in design, configuration, installation, test and troubleshooting of IT network systems primarily consisting of Cisco and Linux based LAN/WANs. The EWI network engineer must be process oriented and have strong technical writing and verbal communication skills and willingness and ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimal or no supervision. The EWI network engineer must have the ability to develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

Qualifications

Requirements : High School diploma (or GED) and 4 years general experience or an Associates or Bachelors degree and 2 year’s experience. Requires 2 year’s experience in an engineering field. Knowledge of networking basics. Have a willingness and ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision. Able to obtain a Security certification. Able to obtain secret clearance. Ability to travel 25-35% of the time - CONUS and OCONUS. Able to obtain DoD Secret Clearance.

Desired: Active Secret Clearance: Familiar with Cisco routers/switches/firewalls/IPS, internal and external routing protocols, TCP and UDP, IP, multicast and Ethernet broadcast in a multi-layer operational network environment, Voice over IP Call Manager, local and long-haul data transmission mediums.
