Description of Duties:

The Sr Enterprise Architect supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:

  • Work on the Enterprise Architecture team, directly under the Chief Architect.

  • Responsible for the creation of standards for detailed design/integration of subsystems to create enterprise level processes for delivery of products across the agency.

  • Interface with Sr. level Government and contract leaders as well as solution architects and design engineers.

  • Implement and customize standard frameworks such as the DoD Architectural Framework (DoDAF).

  • Provide clear guidance in situations where stakeholders may have competing interests and priorities.

  • Support organizational change that enables product based delivery by applying critical thinking and systems analysis to a diverse set of challenges.

  • Oversee and mentor junior Enterprise Architects

The successful candidate will have experience in most of the following disciplines and situations:

  • Experience with situations ranging from hands on technical design to creating organizational mission statements and priorities.

  • Experience within one or more of the technical domains listed:IT networking, network defense, data center, application development, cloud, client computing, facilities engineering, data science

  • Very familiar working within a multi-discipline environment

  • Experience working with organizational leaders to shape mission and technology goals into a strategic policy.

  • Experience with customizing the DoDAF framework to a commercial off-the-shelf based IT environment.

  • Experience working with organizational leaders to shape mission and technology goals into a strategic policy.

  • Expert ability in reading comprehension, presentation speaking and taking initiative in uncertain situations.

This position will be filled at Schriever AFB, Colorado Springs, CO. Due to current COVID-19 posture, work will be remote with the possibility of returning to on-site presence.

This position is expected to pay $118,900 - $166,500 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

This position will be posted for a minimum of 3 days. If a candidate has not been selected at that time, it will continue to be posted until a suitable candidate is selected or the position is closed.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Basic Requirements:

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 14 years of general experience; Associate’s degree and 12 years of general experience; Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of general experience; Master’s degree and 8 years of general experience.

  • Must have at least 8 years of relevant experience establishing architectures.

  • Must have 3 years of experience in management or leadership roles.

  • Must have expert level experience in at least one technical area including but not limited to: Information Technology, Software Development, Systems Engineering or Facility Engineering.

  • Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Desired Requirements:

  • Experience with establishment of standards and design frameworks within a multi-discipline environment

  • Experience with creating and standardizing: concept of operations, architecture and design diagrams, as built documentation, operational views, process documentation, naming/configuration management baseline documentation, system ownership allocation, and budget planning/earned value management documentation.

  • Experience creating and mapping business architectures to technical baseline design standards through: Mission and Vision statements, Business Outcomes, Organizational Priorities, Strategic Plans and Road-maps.

  • Familiarity with software tools such as: Jira, Remedy, Bentley, Planet, Doors, Rhapsody and others.

  • Possess or have the ability to obtain a DoD 8570 certification for privileged access on government systems such as the Security+ or CISSP.
