Business Systems Analyst Intermediate
As a valued member of our IT Service Management team, the Business Systems Analyst – Service Level Analyst will assist with the creation of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Organizational Level Agreements (OLAs), referencing best practices and having an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. The analyst engages in expectation management within all teams on the contract. The Business Analyst will use technical writing skills to document SLAs and OLAs, maintaining updated documentation utilizing their mastery of Microsoft Office. The Business Analyst will coordinate annual reviews of the all SLAs and OLAs and recommend any amendments as necessary. The Business Systems Analyst – Service Level Management will be responsible for initiating recommendations for Continual Service Improvement (CSI) actions based on SLA/OLA performance and review of SLA/OLA metrics.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years’ experience working on either a Service or IT contract. A total of 5 years of related experience can be substituted if the skills and requirements are similar. An ideal candidate would have excellent interpersonal, research and time management skills. This person would have grace under pressure, good judgment in sensitive situations and be able to wear multiple hats at the same time. ITIL Foundation v3 is desired. The position requires the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Requires sitting for extended periods of time at a desk/computer terminal (90%). There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work area walking moderate to long distances can sometimes be required.
Inside office/cubicle environment. Requires ability to interact professionally with co-workers and all levels of management (100%). Some functions may be accomplished by remote (Telework agreement required) but there may be times where the candidate may be required to attend meetings or execute functions in person. Social distancing and personal protective equipment are utilized where appropriate.
Equipment and Machines
Requires ability to operate a personal computer, a telephone, copier, and other general office equipment (100%). Ability to conduct evaluation of third and fourth generation or current state of the art computer hardware and software and its ability to support specific requirements, interfacing with other equipment and systems.
Attendance is critical. Work hours are normally 8 hours per day and 5 days per week, Monday through Friday. Being prompt is important to provide continuous and on-going service to customers. Attendance is important to maintain continuity of service. Work outside of normal duty hours may be required with as little as one hour advance notice. Overtime is infrequent, but important when required (1%).
Other Essential Functions
Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization. Must be able to obtain unescorted access to work areas. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others. The minimum of an interim Secret level DoD Security Clearance is required.
