As the New Technology Integration and Infrastructure Support System Administrator, you will maintain the United States Transportation Command IT test environment to validate new technology solutions for the organization’s IT enterprise. You will be integrating the latest technologies into physical, virtual and cloud environments across multiple operating systems and platforms.
The New Technology Integration and Infrastructure Support System Administrator is a member of the Jacobs team, analyzing and evaluating hardware and software for modified services and new service offerings proposed to interface with the production environment. Responsibilities include maintaining the VMWare environment, SCCM management, and Operating System image creation. The work location is at our client’s facility on Scott Air Force Base, IL, and requires a Secret level DoD Security Clearance.

Follow stipulated procedures to test submitted service offerings
Conduct tests as required to ensure all new or modified functionality operates as designed
Assess results of test procedures and report findings according to established protocols
Manage the work queue to ensure that all test results are delivered in accordance with agreed-upon schedules and milestones
Operating System Image creation
Security setting and Patch update deployments
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft applications, including, but not limited to:
o SQL Server
o Microsoft Server 2012 R2; Server 2016, Server 2019
o Active Directory
o Group Policy
o Microsoft Office Suite (2013; 2016)
o Microsoft Windows 10
VMware ESXi 5.5 & 6.x\ VMWare vCenter Server
Demonstrated experience in conducting repeatable test scripts to meet mandated requirements
Ability to plan, organize and manage required work efforts
Excellent oral and written communication skills
IAT Level II Certification
- Experience with the following:
o CISCO UCS Blades
o Network Device Configuration
Demonstrated experience with ITSM tools (e.g. Remedy or ServiceNow)
ITIL Foundation / Practitioner
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of experience or a total of 7 years of related experience. An IAT Level II certification is required. The minimum of an interim Secret level DoD Security Clearance is required.
Requires sitting for extended periods of time at a desk (90%). Requires sitting at a computer terminal for long periods of time (90%). There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work area walking moderate to long distances can sometimes be required.
Inside office/cubicle environment. Requires ability to interact professionally with co-workers and all levels of management (100%).
Equipment and Machines
Requires ability to operate a personal computer, a telephone, copier, and other general office equipment (100%). Ability to conduct evaluation of third and fourth generation or current state of the art computer hardware and software and its ability to support specific requirements, interfacing with other equipment and systems.
Attendance is critical. Work hours are normally 8 hours per day and 5 days per week, Monday through Friday. Being prompt is important to provide continuous and on-going service to customers. Attendance is important to maintain continuity of service. Work outside of normal duty hours may be required under short notice. Overtime is infrequent, but important when required (1%).
Other Essential Functions
Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization. Must be able to obtain unescorted access to work areas. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others. IAT Level II and ITIL Foundations certifications are required. The minimum of an interim Secret level DoD Security Clearance is required.
