Support an ongoing construction project to ensure environmental compliance during all phases of construction and have a hand in transforming tomorrow. As an early-career environmental engineer/scientist you will work on activities related to an industrial construction site at the Idaho National Laboratory, located approximately one hour west of Idaho Falls, ID. Primary duties will include oversight of subcontractors performing construction activities and ensuring environmental compliance during facility construction.

Here’s what you’ll need :

· 0-4 years of environmental field experience including performing compliance inspections, field audits, and wildlife observations

· Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Scientist or other closely related technical degree

· Physically capable of conducting field work in remote locations in varying weather conditions

· 40-hr HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain and maintain

· Sole USA Citizenship

The ideal candidate should possess and can demonstrate some of the following skills and knowledge:

· Team and safety-focused, possessing a solution-based work approach

· Excellent communication skills (oral and written) to communicate effectively with project managers, project teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders

· Ability to work in a team environment with a “no task is too small” attitude

· A person already residing within commuting distance to the project site located in Idaho is highly preferred

· Environmentally focused education or experience

n addition to the requirements above, the ideal candidate is in the vicinity of Idaho Falls.

Essential Functions:

Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. No foot controls necessary. Must be alert to construction equipment in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.

Other Essential Functions

U.S. Citizenship required. Valid driver's license is required. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere and effectively communicate. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others. Must take and pass a pre-employment drug, background check and site security badge screening.
