Jacobs Nuclear Projects and Consulting is a Tier 1 provider to the U.S. Department of Energy, we deliver safe and innovative solutions at complex nuclear cleanup and production sites. Our services include program management, decommissioning, environmental remediation, waste and nuclear material management, nuclear operations, consulting, and engineering, and construction.

The Project Scheduler plays a key role in the management of the Spent Fuel Handling Project at the Naval Reactors Facility of Idaho National Lab. this includes assisting the Construction Manager and Project Controls Manager with the development of project plans, Construction Project Manager compliance and accuracy validation of subcontract vendor schedules (baseline, monthly, and three-week look-ahead), including progress and schedule logic conflict management. Forecasting, diagnosing, and planning workarounds and other project tracking needs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Creating and maintaining subcontractor schedules in P6

  • Reporting and monitoring progress on major construction project

  • supporting the Project Controls Manager in the compiling of multiple subproject schedules to establish the status of work on a weekly basis

  • Preparing daily, weekly, and monthly reports and other ad hoc reporting as requested by the Construction Manager and Project Controls Manager

  • Supports the Project Controls Manager with day-to-day administration of the project, including the financial control, reporting, and monitoring

  • Provides the earned value progress and performance reporting for the project

  • Validate variance analysis

  • Frequent contact with project management, project team members, field craft, finance and accounting stakeholders

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • 5 or more years of work experience

  • 3 years of experience on large scale heavy industrial projects

  • Experience with Primavera P6

  • 5 or more years of experience (demonstrating of proficiency) in administering project schedules

  • Experience with the MS Office Suite - specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to plan, organize, document, perform, review, and present multiple subprojects with minimum supervision

  • Communication skills including the ability to interact with all levels of the project team

  • USA citizenship, dual citizenship not allowed (to comply with government customer requirements and/or applicable government regulations)

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required. Must take and pass a pre-employment drug and background check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefer local candidates but not mandatory

  • Experience with ARES PRISM is a plus

  • Experience with project accounting and cost estimating is a plus

  • Experience with Deltek Acumen software

  • Financial analysis experience

Work Environment:

  • Office environment (95%)

  • May be exposed to areas of high noise levels, hazardous propellants, explosives, chemicals and industrial facilities

Physical Requirements:

  • Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions

  • Must be able to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist, and lift. Lifting requirements limited to 25 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing, and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. Must be alert to hazards in the field.

Equipment and Machines:

  • Standard office equipment - PC, telephone, fax, copier, and related equipment (90%)

Attendance:

  • Regular attendance mandatory (100%)

  • Overtime/work outside normal schedule may be required (20%)

  • Travel may be required (<10%)

Other Essential Information:

  • Valid driver's license is required

  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere

  • Must put forward professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation

  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employees or others

  • Someone already residing a commutable distance from the Naval Reactors Facility at Idaho National Lab area to make the commute daily is preferred

  • The work location is approximately 55 miles from Idaho Falls
