About the opportunity:

Jacobs Nuclear is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver £7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit high value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site wide improvements and provision of supporting services.

We are currently looking for an experienced Civil/ Structural & Architectural Engineer (CS&A) to Site CS&A Engineer on site at Sellafield.

You will report to the CS&A (Civil, Structural & Architectural) Responsible Engineer, and will be site based (Sellafield). The role will require technical engagement with current construction activities and where required act as a conduit back to the civil, structural and architectural design team, based at Risley/ Altrincham.

Principal responsibilities

  • Provide information for and participate in constructability reviews, HAZCONS etc

  • Provide on site technical solutions

  • Answer TQs/ Concessions and liaise with the design team if required

  • Attend and participate in design meetings to resolve issues and communicate progress.

  • Assure that technical solutions provided by the Design Team are being implemented on site

  • Deliver design review documentation to the Design Team.

  • Coordination of vendors construction documentation and supply to the design team

  • Provide BIM technical support and coordination between Design, Construction and Supplier Teams

  • Coordinate with Contractor in the production of Red-line drawings highlighting the As Built status

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Familiarity with a wide range of steelwork and reinforced concrete construction technologies and techniques.

  • Experience and working knowledge of CDM

  • Have varied site experience working on large and heavily regulated construction projects

  • Have working knowledge for installation of site infrastructure works
