About the Opportunity

The Repository Infrastructure Framework is engineering, design and construction framework being delivered on the Nuclear Waste Services Low Level Waste Repository site at Drigg in Cumbria. The role is to be part of construction team to deliver several projects / sub-contracts on the LLWR site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Engineering Quality of the project delivery, ensuring compliance with client specifications and engineering standards. The role works alongside the Construction Project Manager to ensure scope changes, time and cost constraints are managed.

  • Responsible, in co-operation with Client, for the technical quality of all construction work and associated quality and engineering documentation.

  • Maintains compliance with Engineering Standards and applicable legislation

  • To participate in Design Reviews and offer construction advice to those reviews.

  • Ensuring the confidentiality and security of data and information received from clients

  • Ensuring the requirements of the Health & Safety of Work act, CDM, Machineries Directive, and the COSHH regulations are understood and complied with

  • Liaise with the Project Manager to ensure safe, effective project delivery to time and cost.

  • Responsibility for the on site delivery of construction projects and tasks across the Contract Framework.

  • Engagement with stakeholders and clients to develop and maintain appropriate measures and delivery methodologies.

  • Ensuring the incorporation of ‘best practice’ and LFE into the framework/project/task delivery

  • Coordination with the construction PM with regards to resourcing/recruitment needs, including participation in candidate interviews, candidate selection and approval process.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Experience working in a fast-paced project environment

  • Construction experience in a Nuclear environment

  • Familiar with working under NEC contracts

  • HNC / HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering or Construction

  • Able to communicate effectively and develop relationships with at all levels of the business and external organisations.
