Are you a detail-oriented component librarian and PCB designer with a passion for enabling state of the art PCB designs for SDR-based communication systems? If so, then Jacobs has a great opportunity for you in our Special Projects Division (SPD).
SPD is a rapidly growing division within the Rapid Solutions sector of Jacobs that is leading the development of next generation communications modules, systems, and special projects. This division has a small company atmosphere where you can solve challenging problems, expand your abilities, and advance your career.
This individual will maintain and manage critical component and project libraries for a fast paced, multi-disciplinary design team developing and maintaining modern communications systems. Activities will include creation and management of component libraries in Altium Concord Pro, conversion of legacy libraries, development of processes, and the training of engineers and PCB designers.
Establish and maintain Concord Pro libraries for SPD pilot projects.
Coordinate conversion of legacy Altium library components and projects to the pilot Concord Pro server.
Create components within the Concord Pro and legacy Altium component libraries.
Manage the Concord Pro server.
Participate in pilot evaluation.
Update component creation processes and approval workflows to include Concord Pro support. Train PCB designers and engineers in these processes.
Work closely with our In-house manufacturing on best component footprint creation practices for our SMT process.
Provide status reports to project managers and/or division production manager, as required.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
5 years experience in component creation and component library management.
Familiarity with high-density surface mount devices and/or bare die.
Flexibility and willingness to deal with diverse requirements and complex trade-offs, often outside of or beyond industry standards.
Experience using and maintaining Concord Pro, Altium, or Altium 365 libraries.
Familiarity with version management systems (Git, SVN, etc.).
IPC CID/CID+ certification.
Board layout experience.
Experience working directly with advanced high complexity SMT manufacturers.
Mechanical CAD experience (Solidworks or comparable).
