Looking for an innovative, capable, high caliber, Electrical Engineer. Position opening is with a fast-paced team, building and supporting multiple mission critical applications used by hundreds of users. Projects you will work on have high exposure, reputability and respect across the community.
Candidate would be responsible for performing design, development, test, evaluation, and support of electrical hardware solutions for existing and upcoming products. Candidate would design primarily at the schematic level with oversight of the layout. Candidate would be a part of the development team that develops specialized tracking devices and communications products for government, military, and commercial customers.
Design circuits at the schematic level.
Derive requirements, select components and perform schematic design.
Utilize development boards and/or breadboards to prove out circuit designs.
Work with mechanical engineers to develop mechanical aspects of products.
Oversee and inspect board layouts.
Test circuit boards and electronic systems to prove functionality, debug as required.
Assist in the development of production-level tests.
Support transition to production.
Perform failure analysis on problem areas and document root cause.
Document results of testing and failure analysis.
Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
Assist in creating cost estimates for related activities.
Generate white papers, ROMs, and cost estimates in support of business development.
Support project and group meetings to include providing updates of project/task progress, issues, mitigation inputs.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Must be willing and able to obtain a security clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, 6+ years’ experience.
Ability to generate schematics and circuit board development.
Ability to read and understand datasheets for integrated circuits.
Good knowledge of electronic components and test equipment.
Understanding of BOM and product configuration practices.
Willingness to support business development activities; white papers, BOEs, etc.
Ability to coach and mentor junior engineers.
Ability to work in a dynamic environment with cross-functional teams.
Effective time management and prioritization skills.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously.
Works well as a part of a team.
Basic skills in Microsoft Office software products.
Good problem-solving skills.
Experience with tracking and/or communications products.
Experience with GPS receivers.
Experience with cellular & satellite communications.
Ability to write software and/or firmware.
Experience in rechargeable batteries and battery chargers.
Experience in low power design.
Experience in micro-controller-based designs.
Experience in RF systems design.
Experience with Allegro, OrCAD, and/or Altium Designer.
Experience in commercial SDRs / GNU Radio.
Technical knowledge and technical writing ability for writing technical requirements, design documents, and deployment documentation.
