Jacobs MES Systems Administrator in Severn, Maryland

This is a challenging and rewarding position with a mission to support the manufacturing execution system (MES) in our Rapid Solutions Manufacturing Group of Jacobs. This opportunity involves working to establish the MES system for the Surface Mount Assembly team working with prototypes, legacy assemblies, and full production builds for internal & external customers.
The MES Systems Administrator will interface with multiple departments, including Corporate IT, SMT, Machine Shop and Electro-Mechanical Assembly management, to document business processes, functional specification design, configuration, testing, and implementing complex manufacturing processing routes for prototypes, legacy assemblies, full production, assembly, and test operations. The ideal candidate will coordinate with peers and team members and will be responsible for project management, analysis, design, development, and implementation of the Factory Logix or similar MES solution. This position will also be responsible for developing, evaluating, and implementing changes in the MES software that enables the Manufacturing Group to meet functional and technical requirements. This individual will be the first escalation point for internal support and IT-related request for the manufacturing execution system (MES) in Severn, MD.
Responsibilities :
Establish and administer production and development of Factory Logix or a similar MES solution instance to support the MES needs of the Rapid Solutions Manufacturing group.
Support Factory Logix or similar MES system administration and data analysis in an SMT, Machine Shop and Electro-Mechanical Assembly manufacturing environment.
Must be willing to work on-site in Severn, Maryland, as necessary.
MES Administration, data extraction, standard and custom reporting interfaces, and internal end-user support.
Work with 3rd party vendors and internal IT resources to monitor system performance, including regular maintenance to ensure high system availability and performance.
Support the manufacturing, engineering, and departmental quality requirements to ensure high customer satisfaction.
Assist with system upgrades to new software revisions; ensure system integrity through proper planning and system testing.
Provide high-level training/support for users on process route building, standard reporting, data extraction, and MES reporting software.
Support the creation of data collection operations and statistical process control (SPC) charts.
Support and monitor ERP-MES interfaces, including gateways and interface tables for all sites.
Administrate system configuration changes, new features modeling, testing, and deployment with the MES and existing systems that support operations.
Monitor user requests and propose solutions.
Monitors systems issues and coordinates with IT infrastructure and client services resolution of application problems.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent experience
Must have 5+ years of relevant IT experience.
Hands-on experience with Factory Logix or similar MES system administration preferred.
Strong customer service focus and analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Independent follow-through ability and keen attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Preferred :
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
Experience using Atlassian Jira and Confluence.
Experience with Manufacturing Execution System (MES) integration.
Experience with Material Resource Planning (MRP) integration.
Experience maintaining an Equipment Calibration Database.
Working knowledge of an RDBMS (SQL Server) preferred.
Factory Monitoring System (FMS) for temp, humidity, particulate count, and pressure.
Networking manufacturing equipment for SMT lines and electro-mechanical assembly.
Experience in automating processes using scanners with 1D and 2D barcodes.
Experience in Production Scheduling, Work Orders Automated Scheduling based on Work Process.
Supply Chain Planning.
Automating Heel strap testing and monitoring per lab.
Metrics Tracking (Preventive and Annual Maintenance tracking, Supplier Quality and On-time delivery, Manufacturing Quality and On-time delivery).
End Item Data Package (EDIP) capturing and delivery.
Capturing genealogy as-built configuration of a product, supporting maintenance and repair, from the cradle to the grave.
