Your Impact:

Overview:

The Innovative Aerospace Division within Jacobs is searching for a highly motivated and technically competent Senior Electrical Engineer to join a close-knit radar systems development team that has developed and fielded novel and innovative high-resolution ground-based, airborne, and orbital radar systems. Candidate would be responsible for performing design, development, test, evaluation, and support of electrical hardware solutions for existing and upcoming radar systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design circuits at the schematic level.

• Derive requirements, select components and perform schematic design.

• Utilize development boards and/or breadboards to prove out circuit designs.

• Work with mechanical engineers to develop mechanical aspects of products.

• Oversee and inspect board layouts.

• Test circuit boards and electronic systems to prove functionality, debug as required.

• Assist in the development of production-level tests.

• Support transition to production.

• Perform failure analysis on problem areas and document root cause.

• Document results of testing and failure analysis.

• Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.

• Assist in creating cost estimates for related activities.

• Generate white papers, ROMs, and cost estimates in support of business development.

• Support project and group meetings to include providing updates of project/task progress, issues, mitigation inputs.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Qualifications

Required:

• U.S. Citizenship. Must be willing and able to obtain a security clearance

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, 10+ years’ experience

• Ability to generate schematics and circuit board development

• Experience in micro-controller and FPGA based designs

• Experience in RF systems design

• Ability to read and understand datasheets for integrated circuits

• Good knowledge of electronic components and test equipment

• Understanding of BOM and product configuration practices

• Willingness to support business development activities; white papers, BOEs, etc.

• Ability to coach and mentor junior engineers

• Ability to work in a dynamic environment with cross-functional teams

• Effective time management and prioritization skills

• Excellent communication and documentation skills

• Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously

• Works well as a part of a team

• Basic skills in Microsoft Office software products

• Good problem-solving skills

Preferred:

• Experience with Radar Systems

• Experience with cellular & satellite communications.

• Ability to write software and/or firmware.

• Experience with Pulsed Power Systems

• Experience with Altium Designer.

• Experience designing for Space or Harsh Environments

• Technical knowledge and technical writing ability for writing technical requirements, design documents, and deployment documentation.

Work Environment

Office setting that includes sedentary physical effort. However, may include lifting of weight up to thirty (30) pounds as necessary. Must be able to work well with co-workers and all levels of

management. No hazards on job or unusual environmental conditions. Work site is located at

Severn, MD

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing

and reading from a computer screen.

Equipment and Machines

Ability to operate office equipment such as personal computer, printer, copy machine,

telephone, fax machine and other equipment including desk supplies and other work related

tools as required.

Other Essential Functions

Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management

and co-workers.

Clearance : Must be able obtain and maintain a security clearance, (Minimum SECRET).

Clearance processing will be completed by the U.S. Government. Factors considered for a U.S. Government Security Clearance include but are not limited:
