Jacobs Senior Lead Planner in Severn, Maryland

Do you want to become part of an extremely successful, rapidly growing Agile Engineering Team?You will have the opportunity to work with multiple in-house Engineering teams that design and manufacture state of the art electronics directly supporting mission-critical products: You will work with project management to maintain and plan material procurement according to project requirements and schedules. Maintain supplier relationships and negotiations while ensuring that materials are procured from approved suppliers. Manage team overseeing obtaining quotes, supplier selection etc. (release of purchase requisitions and production orders) utilizing MRP systems.

Responsibilities:

  • You will work with project management to maintain and plan material procurement according to project requirements and schedules.

  • Maintain supplier relationships and negotiations while ensuring that materials are procured from approved suppliers.

  • Manage team overseeing obtaining quotes, supplier selection etc. (release of purchase requisitions and production orders) utilizing MRP systems.

  • Monitor the progress of daily planning and inventory operations, resolving issues when they arise.

  • Ensures manufacturing material requirements are met in a timely manner by the Material Planning team.

  • Provides input to management regarding problems such as shortages, design changes, backlogs, parts obsolescence, long lead materials.

  • Provide information for update of production schedules per customer requirements including purchasing requirements.

  • Maintain up-to-date pricing for manufacturing bill of materials as required.

  • This position will include planning responsibilities in addition to Team supervision.

  • Will contribute at least 75% of their time to material procurement in addition to team management.

  • Manage inventory personnel and understand stock levels and kitting requirements to meet production schedules.

  • Optimize inventory and process improvements within areas of responsibility.

  • Manages professional employees and supervises multi-discipline teams of support employees accounting for planning and inventory control.

  • Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion, coordinates work activities with management.

  • Decisions requiring problem solving are guided by policies and procedures; apply acquired expertise to analyze and solve problems without clear precedent; will receive guidance from and oversight from manager.

  • Provides input on resource planning and policy development; coaches team members on performance, completes employee performance evaluations and recommends pay actions.

  • Works independently and as part of a larger Team.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • 10+ years experience in Material Planning and current or previous supervisory skills.

  • Individual will be guiding a Planning team and should have previous experience in management.

  • Position will include employee management including yearly review involvement.
