Your Impact:

Jacobs Technology Inc. (JTI) is seeking an individual to join its supply chain team located in Severn, MD as a Shipping & Receiving Coordinator and Supervisor. The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for the overall organization, distribution, shipping and receiving of product, materials, supplies and parts. Duties include managing and overseeing the day-to-day activities of the shipping and receiving area, coordinating the activities, inventory and general ‘housekeeping’ of the warehouse area assigned. Ability to coordinate and prioritize activities in a fast-paced environment. Must be organized and detail oriented.

Duties :

  • Checks incoming and outgoing shipments and associated paperwork for accuracy and enters into ERP.

  • Prioritizes tasks including outbound orders, incoming distribution, inventory, maintaining shipping inventory and associated duties.

  • Determines best method of outbound shipment and shipping charges, schedules shipping with freight companies, checks outgoing shipments for accuracy.

  • Maintains departmental inventory records (Internal, External, and Service) both physical count and ERP.

  • Corresponds with appropriate departments and suppliers on any discrepancies.

  • May compile reports for Procurement and/or Project Management in support of strategic imperatives.

  • Performs periodic audits of supply items and records and communicates inventory levels.

  • Routinely researches freight and supply companies to ensure JTI is receiving best possible prices, quality, and delivery timelines.

  • Work across multiple departments to track down open supplier invoices.

  • Support DCMA and Quality audits.

  • Participates in and/or manages special projects as required.

  • May provide advice, guidance, and direction to less experienced staff.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Required :

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in distribution and warehousing.

  • Strong computer knowledge; administrative and data entry (Word, Excel, Outlook, inventory and/or ERP programs a plus).

  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures and practices.

  • Knowledge of inventory procedures and methodologies.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to function independently and multi-task.

  • Effective comprehension/communication-verbal and written; leadership and team building skills.

  • Demonstrate willingness to cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned position and participate in a changing environment to reach common goals.

  • Ability to ensure all work instructions and procedures are followed.

  • Ability to get a security clearance.

Preferred :

  • Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Experience in a electronics manufacturing/production environment with quality control procedures.

  • Supervisory experience.

  • Experience with PeopleSoft Purchasing System.
