We currently in search of an Resident Engineer for construction supervision of various projects water and wastewater infrastructure projects in the UAE, primarily Sharjah and the Northern Emirates.

The Resident Engineer provides oversight of the construction supervision of the projects to ensure that the design documentation is safely and accurately implemented on site, and that the requirements of the construction contract are followed. As an RE, you will based out of project site office and you will be reporting to Project Manager and the RE will be responsible for oversight of the Assistant Resident Engineers and Site Engineers.

The effective candidate will work as an integrated member of the Construction Supervision team. We are looking for a professional who will ensure client satisfaction and help strengthen our project delivery capabilities. Resident Engineer will be responsible for ownership and direction of the team of engineers, in performing the contractual duties as well as regular reporting on progress, safety, financial and quality.

You will be responsible for maintaining relationships with the client and contractor with a major emphasis on safe construction practices (Target Zero) and on maintaining a high quality of construction. Guiding by example in encouraging safe practices on site.

Continuous monitoring of progress of construction against the programme and takes steps to ensure the programme is achieved.

The RE will ensure that the project quality control procedures are used for the highway supervision works and monitors it for improvement. Cooperates with audits preferred in accordance with the contract requirements and Jacobs internal systems.

Evaluates, selects, and adapts construction management and control techniques, procedures, and criteria to suit job tasks, and devises and implements solutions to problems encountered.

About you

Experience as a Resident Engineer for water and wastewater projects that are complex in nature and are ideally located in the Middle East region with a minimum of 20 years post graduate experience. Degree in Civil Engineering from an internationally recognized and accredited university, Chartered Engineering qualification preferred understand the aspects of site supervision and construction management of highways projects.
