Jacobs Singapore would like to welcome a Lead Mechanical Engineer to be part of our Advanced Facilities Electronics and Data Centre team. In general, the position will be working on engineering calculations, design, submission and coordination with authorities.

Main duties

  • Mechanical engineering calculations (ACMV, FP, P&S and some process utility mechanical systems, e.g. PCW, vacuum, process exhaust). Stamp authority submission drawing document if you are a registered PE

  • Lead Mechanical design (drawings, 3D model, Specification) and client/contractor interface

  • Lead mechanical team, provide guidance and mentoring

  • Responsible for deliverables (drawings, Specifications, datasheet, calculations) produced by the mechanical team for quality, schedule and code compliances.

  • Coordination with other disciplines

  • Authority submissions for clearances

  • Technical bid analysis

  • Review contractor’s submittals (drawings, calculations, schedule, RFI, submittal, procedures, etc.) during the construction stage.

  • Testing and commissioning mechanical systems

Here’s what you’ll need :

To be a successful candidate, you shall possess:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree from a university recognized by Professional Engineer Board Singapore.

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in a design consultancy company on industrial buildings, data center, microelectronic manufacturing (wafer fab), chemical plants; Multi-project phases experience

  • Knowledge in engineering calculations (ACMV, Fire Protection, Plumbing & Sanitary and process mechanical systems, e.g. PCW, vacuum, process exhaust)

  • Familiarity with code and regulation, such as Authority submission requirements (SCDF, PUB-Water, PUB-Sew/San, NEA, GreenMark); CP and SS (Fire Code, SS532, SS553, SS636, SS645, COPSSW); International standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC)

  • Ability to communicate and work well with the team
