The Technical Director – Pumped Hydro & Marine Energy is an essential component of a growth strategy to position Jacobs to meet the requirements of energy transition activities within the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, this role is a key pillar of the Jacobs APAC Technical Director cohort and will have a central position in engaging our clients at the highest levels to understand and support their aspirations. This role can be based in any Jacobs APAC office.
The successful candidate will lead a regional technical practise through a complex energy transitional pathway involving a range of hydro/marine energy technologies as we pursue future sustainability outcomes for our clients and markets. Key attributes for the successful candidate will be proven project engineering and delivery experience of Pumped Hydro & Marine Energy power projects in an engineering or consulting environment. The successful candidate will also be able to work collaboratively with our Operations and Sales teams to provide client focus and support, innovative solutions to clients most challenging problems, connect and nurture our technical resources and evolve a technical practise that is future ready and aligned with our regional growth strategy.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Ability to assure the quality of technical outputs through the appointment of suitably qualified Technical Leaders within the discipline and their assignment to individual tenders and projects.
Develop and maintain the framework of Technical Leaders required to suit the evolving needs of the discipline.
Develop and implement a set of priorities and goals to underpin the success of the technical practice through harnessing the benefits of diversity and inclusion by providing visible inclusive leadership, effective succession planning, exploring recruitment and retention strategies and providing mentoring/sponsorship to staff.
Know how to effectively shape the direction of the technical practice based on future-focused insights and thought leadership and Jacobs’ focus areas.
Provide technical leadership in Sales and actively participate in Client engagement and business development opportunities in pursuit of future work for the business.
Identify, manage and mitigate the technical risk exposure to the business by ensuring adequate controls are identified and applied to technical risks in both Sales and Project Delivery.
Ability to collaborate with and support the Technical Director cohort to bring the best of Jacobs to bear on every opportunity and project undertaken across the business.
Collaborate with APAC Power Technical Directors to develop a leading regional technical practise that challenges the power solutions we provide today and reinvents the solutions we provide tomorrow.
Understand Jacobs sustainability values and priorities and work with Jacobs senior leaders to provide thought leadership to our clients, markets and staff on how these are reflected in the actions we take and the work that we do.
