About the opportunity

Our Brisbane team is looking for an experienced Consultant to join our Buildings Cost Management group to help deliver successful projects for our varied client portfolio. You’ll provide cost planning and estimating services from concept stage through to project completion, for existing and new projects.

About you

The ideal candidate will have pre and post contract quantity surveying work experience gained from working on major building projects. The nature of the work in Brisbane requires an individual who is keen to take ownership of their work and drive the outcomes the client requires. Work is interesting and varied with exposure to a range of industries including defence, health care, education, commercial, retail and leisure.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and advising on the most appropriate design and construction process to the client

  • Delivering services in accordance with client expectations

  • Providing cost planning and estimating services – concept stage through to project completion

  • Develop new business and support ongoing partnerships within your key sectors that deliver team profit and growth

  • Manage the outputs, practices and delivery of services throughout the project life cycle

  • Bill of quantities and trade package preparation

  • Provide coaching and mentoring to less experienced staff

  • Providing post contract services

  • Delivery in non-traditional areas such as asset and value management as required

  • Document control in accordance with the Jacobs QMS Policy

  • Complying with the Clients' policies, procedures and systems on jobs

  • Reporting to the team on status against the brief and services delivery.

Ideally you’ll have the following skills and experience:

  • Qualifications in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.

  • Membership of AIQS, or RICS or equivalent.

  • Demonstrable experience in relevant field such as: buildings,civil

  • Strong background and experience in professional cost management services in public and/or private sector.

  • Experience developing and building business relationships.

  • Experience implementing business and/or project plans.

  • Experience monitoring small teams and/or project budgets and forecasts.
