About the role

Jacobs is looking for a dynamic inspirational leader who'll champion inclusion and diversity, support a culture of innovation, apply a disciplined deployment of capital and drive operational excellence in the new structure of our ANZ business.

The Executive Director of Operations provides executive leadership, management and supervision for our Central West (WA, SA & NT) and Northern (QLD) operations business.

Ultimately accountable for the financial performance of the CW&N geography and central to ensuring we create lasting and sustainable value for our shareholders, you will manage negotiations, be highly commercially astute, and navigate through the profit & loss and balance sheet. You will set and deliver key commercial performance objectives.

You will motivate, inspire and hold your team to account, make considered investment decisions, proactively manage working capital and responsibly control cost. You will have a balanced approach to risk management, and apply disciplined solution delivery to achieve key commercial targets and broader business goals.

You will provide strategic and operational direction to a leadership team and through your outstanding strategic thinking, identify and drive CW&N wide initiatives that support Jacobs’ purpose and values. Your extensive client relationships, industry standing and outstanding ability to analyse, interpret and relate global and local market trends will identify and anticipate client needs and ensure our recruitment, retention and development programs reflect this need to stay relevant into the future.

Your adaptable, empathetic and authentic communication style will connect across a range of channels including townhalls, email, webinars and small groups, fostering a sense of belonging, connection and shared vision across your large, multidisciplinary, diverse team.

You will work closely with the Growth and Sales, Marketing, Solutions and Technology leadership to increase Jacobs’ profile in the market and to identify opportunities to bring, bold, future-focussed thinking and smart ideas to our clients. By engaging the power of our people’s intellect both within ANZ and across the globe, you will efficiently grow our pipeline of work and magnify our ability to serve our clients and our communities.

  • Ensures Accountability: Experience setting and delivering on a financial plan for a Performance Unit, Region or Market Geography of equivalent scale and complexity. Advanced capability in managing negotiations, commercial analysis and motivating and holding your leadership team to account to achieve key commercial targets, broader business goals and business processes (including BeyondZero and Inclusion & Diversity priorities).

  • Situational Adaptability: Exceptional ability to adapt or shift priorities in response to the needs of clients, team members or the organisation and to guide your leadership team to remain flexible in a changing, competitive environment by being a role model for adaptability.
