At Jacobs, our Power Solutions team is geared towards providing a more integrated approach offering end-to-end service to support our clients in energy networks, thermal generation, renewable generation and storage solutions space. We are helping our clients meet the challenges faced in countries and cities across the globe, providing innovative solutions from replacing conventional thermal power plants with renewable energy to developing demand side management strategies.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Our Power Systems team is supporting a rapid transition of the global markets into renewable energy. We undertake power system studies on innovative projects in Australia, New Zealand and throughout Asia, Europe and the USA. We deliver detailed system studies for clients developing or upgrading their assets, requiring access to the Electricity Network and with network owners to support asset management and future planning.
This role will collaborate with Jacobs Global Technical professionals on multidisciplinary power projects and with Operations and Sales to ensure we generate creative solutions for our customers. This is an opportunity to grow your skills in new and developing technologies within the power industry working with highly skilled and experienced professionals across the globe.
We are open to candidates working from any ANZ location, can offer any degree of flexibility required and hope to find someone with the following skills and experience:
Considerable in depth understanding of power system issues and demonstrated experience in power system studies.
Ability to oversee the development and delivery of client projects with a particular focus on power system analysis, including network connections, application of regulatory requirements, network planning and compliance and reliability analysis.
Effective communicator and collaborator, with the aptitude to articulate the technical direction of proposal development.
Experience and ability to lead studies in various power system software packages such as PSCAD or PSS/E.
A tertiary degree in a related electrical engineering field.
