About the opportunity

Jacobs is looking for an individual to continue to grow our strong reputation of excellence in technical consulting and project delivery expertise. Our Rail team are playing a role on most major rail infrastructure projects in Australia and have a strong project pipeline. As we continue winning work, we are seeking to appoint a Rail Project Manager. You will deliver on assigned projects successfully through the management of the client, and other stakeholders, aiding in the design, vision and strategy for the delivery for the infrastructure program to ensure delivery according to time, cost, quality, safety & environmental specifications. This role works closely with delivery partners and manages major multidisciplinary rail infrastructure projects. Based in South Brisbane; the purpose of this role will be to manage key infrastructure projects and provide broader project leadership across the Transport sector.

About you

With a significant project portfolio and several projects in the pipeline, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate experience with major rail project delivery. You will be a leader in delivering design, commercials and interfacing with all teams across large complex rail projects. You will actively promote a strong safety culture in the working environment, whilst delivering projects to meet control budgets, key milestones, and time, cost quality and safety targets in line with program plans.

  • Demonstrable Rail industry related experience and proven success in the management of projects within a design and consultancy environment

  • Experience managing the design phase in multi-disciplinary railway infrastructure projects in a consultancy environment

  • You will ensure project change control procedures are established and adhered to for the provision of a professional, first class, consistent and effective project management service to clients

  • Degree qualified (essential) and Masters (preferable)

  • Be a Registered Professional Engineering of Queensland (RPEQ) or be working towards it

  • Extensive experience managing budgets, key milestones, and time, cost quality and safety targets

  • Be a chartered professional engineer

  • Have good interpersonal skills relating to working in a team environment with the ability to communicate across teams to ensure the delivery of projects

  • Have good communication skills, both verbally and written

  • Have evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

  • Be willing to travel domestically to meet project needs
