As a vital member of our Missouri transportation team, our Mid-Level Structural (Bridge) Engineers serve in key technical roles on bridge design projects plus perform design for all structural aspects of transportation projects on local, state, regional and national projects. We are looking for a self-motivated professional with strong technical skills with a desire to grow personally as well as professionally.

You’ll be part of diverse multi-discipline teams in the delivery of transportation planning and design, and highway design projects. Your technical ability will give you the opportunity to lead tasks and/or projects that help us address our client’s most significant and challenging problems. This is an excellent opportunity to advance your technical knowledge to advance technical solutions for our clients while supported by local and national resources, including Jacobs extensive network of technical experts.

  • A minimum of MSCE with a focus in structural engineering or Masters of Structural Engineering required.

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license required.

  • A minimum of 5-10 years demonstrated experience in Bridge/Structural design, Bridge/Structural inspection, and Load Rating Analysis is required.

  • Proficient knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to project work-related issues

  • Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; including active involvement in a variety of rehabilitation and new design projects.

  • Knowledge of MicroStation, Microsoft Office, MathCad, SAP2000, MIDAS or equivalent.

  • Proficiency with MoDOT, and or IDOT standards, specifications, and procedures.

  • Participation in professional associations is a plus.

  • Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills with strong attention to detail with an emphasis on a quality work product.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Ability and willingness to learn.

  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

  • Perform professional structural engineering work and lead Bridge design tasks as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
