About the role:

We are looking for an experienced HR Consultant with a generalist background to support our Nordic operations. We currently operate in Sweden and Denmark, while looking at growing into other Nordic countries such as Norway and Finland. As Jacobs’ growth pattern in the region is dynamic, the remit of this role may change accordingly, including regular involvement in projects and initiatives outside of the primary countries mentioned.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Provide HR expertise and support for both our employees and managers across the Nordics.

  • It is essential that you have experience providing guidance on local legislation, HR practice and cultural norms for the Nordics.

  • It is essential that you are comfortable working in a standalone position and are able to work remotely with your management and colleagues within the global Jacobs HR team.

  • Support engagement with the vision, mission and the values of the company and create positive employee experiences.

  • Ensure HR compliance with employment laws and regulations.

  • Work in partnership with Talent Acquisition to support an effective attraction and recruitment strategy suitable for the region.

  • Ensure staff are effectively onboarded at a local level.

  • General HR admin work which includes but is not limited to: preparing and amending HR database and documents (such as employment contracts, job descriptions and other employment documentation), off boarding, first point of contact for employees on HR or welfare matters, coordinate with local payroll for monthly inputs, ensuring all employee records are updated, occasional translation from Swedish/Danish into English).

  • Provide input for development and use of HR metrics, data, work processes, systems, and tools, as required.

  • Participate in global HR initiatives as part of the global or regional Jacobs HR family.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Relevant HR qualification or equivalent.

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a HR Generalist or HR management role in a multinational environment, preferably covering Scandinavia.

  • Good knowledge of the employment law in the region (CBAs, social security and labour law)

  • Experience of building relationships across all levels and areas of the business along with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.

  • Comfortable working in a standalone position, this position is the only HR person located in country and must be happy working for and with a manager located in another country.

  • Very good knowledge of spoken and written English at business level.

  • An understanding of Swedish and Danish languages, preferably both verbal and written.

  • Experience working in matrixed organization, including leveraging and integrating centralized operational HR support functions for delivery

  • Experience with Union relations and employers’ associations.

  • Ability to think commercially but also in balance with employee experience.

  • Understanding of global HR processes is an additional asset
