As an Associate Economist you will lead projects and work winning activities by undertaking various advisory tasks, project management and bid management across a range of markets throughout the ANZ region. The role will be responsible for delivering a range of projects to achieve successful strategic and commercial outcomes and supporting client relationship management and capability leadership throughout ANZ.

This role will have a specific focus on economics and finance capability. This includes leading economic appraisals, business cases, investment strategies, options assessments and other strategic consulting projects. You will keep abreast of new methods, technologies and developments impacting the industry, Jacobs and our clients in order to contribute to the strategic direction of the group. You will facilitate Jacobs in maintaining a competitive advantage by identifying strategic pursuits and applying the latest capability developments and solutions in project delivery. You will support the ANZ business in work winning activities including client engagement and leading bids and proposals.

Through regular industry participation you will maintain and grow strong client relationships, identify emerging opportunities and act as a trusted advisor to a select group of key clients. You will help maintain compliance with Jacobs QA/QC procedures including appropriate reviews. #LI-AP1

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Tertiary qualifications relevant to Economics consulting or equivalent experience.

  • Proven experience in complex economic/financial analyses and high profile business cases in key sectors , e.g. transport, water and social infrastructure.

  • The ability to identify and anticipate industry trends and develop strategic and tactical responses.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and convey convincing value propositions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills which are applied to bring out the best in peers and to engage productively with clients.

  • Self-motivated, with capacity to work both independently and as part of a team (including virtual teams spread over multiple locations) and under the pressure of deadlines.

  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to convey complex issues succinctly.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects, set priorities and work within required timelines.
