As a vital member of our Florida & Puerto Rico team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on transportation projects that focus on bridges and other transportation structure designs. Working alongside a team of technicians and engineers, you’ll be responsible for creating drawings and simulations using software tools and resources supporting our clients’ overall project goals.
Our Intermediate Level Bridge Engineering professional prepares final designs and drawings for variously sized bridges related projects. You’ll serve as a core team member to help successfully deliver quality projects. Working closely with other disciplines, you’ll assist with field assignments as related to transportation structures, reviewing shop drawings and answer RFI’s during construction.
Here’s what you’ll need :
Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering and/or Structural Engineering
4-10 years minimum bridge design experience and transportation structure design
Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Design Code, FDOT Bridge Specifications, ACI and ASCI Design Codes
Florida Professional Engineer licensure or Engineer in Training (EIT) with ability to obtain licensure within 36 months of hire
Develop engineering designs and plans for various structure types
Skill with bridge design including Reinforced Concrete Bridges, Prestressed/Post-tensioned Concrete Bridges, Steel Plate, and Box Girder Bridges, Retaining Walls, Box Culverts, Sign/Signal Structures, Sound Barrier Walls, and other transportation-related structures
Perform routine engineering functions related to bridge inspection, design, and rehabilitation
Prepare sketches and calculations
Review shop drawings for conformance with contract plans
Familiarity with Microstation or AutoCADD and MathCAD
Experience with Microsoft Windows Office Suite
Knowledge of a variety of bridge design software such as LEAP Design Suite, Midas, SAP2000, CSI Bridge, FDOT bridge Program and other bridge design software
