Position Summary

The Jacobs Tampa, FL office has a need for a Geographic Accounting Lead to maintain project ledgers showing budget line items, commitments, expenditures and forecasts. This person will report to the Geographic Director of Project (GDOP). Local candidates in the Tampa, FL area will be given preference.

  • Supervises Project Controls Specialists to ensure that all applicable elements for Cost and Schedule control on project are implemented

  • Work with Regional Controller to provide support for the Business Plan Forecast as it relates to the Project ETC forecast

  • Coordinates and Enforces Standard Process and Procedures for Project Controls as developed by BIAF Project Services

  • Works with Internal Project Controls Director to continuously improve the internal PC platform and actively participate in the PC community of practice.

  • Schedule and attend Monthly Admin Reviews

  • Facilitate local monthly/quarterly process for Admin Review, Watchlist, Hitlist, and coordinate with GDOP

  • Support Project Manager in pricing preparation/review including coordination needed with Subject Matter Experts, Design Manager and S&T for Pricing Reviews

  • Work with PM to Develop Recovery Plans for Projects on Watch list/Hit List

  • Serve as Project Controls on applicable projects

  • Supervise PC Leads in the Region

  • Enforce standardized project controls processes and tools, coordinate with PEG

  • Mentor Train and Develop PC staff throughout the Region

  • Travel to other local offices as needed

  • Other duties as assigned


  • 10 years of related experience is required

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Construction, or Finance/Accounting preferred

  • Experience working onvarious projects to include coordinating and executing project issues required

  • Specific experience and demonstrated skill in directing cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, cost control, change management and cost analysis required

  • Experience with directing, planning, and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, and analysis required

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to successfully direct and motivate a team inclusive of interacting with client personnel required

  • Advanced knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, and construction projects in the Oil & Gas industry required

  • Significant experience in project controls, commercial operations, and/or prime contract experience with emphasis on project controls and financial issues required

  • Broad knowledge of Project Control Systems and processes including leading schedule processing software, databases and spreadsheet applications (ie: Primavera, Excel) required

  • Comfortable working with all levels and functions in a constructive fashion to achieve responsibilities and goals required

  • Flexibility to travel to other local or nearby offices as needed is required
