Jacobs is seekinga qualified Information Technology (IT) professional to support the USSOCOMSITEC II Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) contract. Your career atJacobs enables USSOCOM to fulfill its mission to “Provide fully capable SpecialOperations Forces (SOF) to defend the United States and its interests andsynchronize planning for global operations against terrorist networks.” As amember of our team, you will support the vice president of the EnterpriseOperations Group (EOG) as we partner with SOF military and civilian members toprovide world-class IT services and support that connects over 60,000 usersaround the world in the areas of software development/maintenance, network services,security, end-user computing, and test and evaluation.

JobDescription

Shift work is required to support 24x7 operations.It is important to be available to work anyshift/designated hours required to include nights, weekends and holidays.

Network LAN/WANAdministrators perform tier one and two network support in accordance with theSIE OPORD. This position provides administration of network and communicationssystems, including, but not limited to, Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide AreaNetwork (WAN) systems. NA need solid technical skills and experience with avariety of network protocols, software, and hardware involved in LAN and WANoperations. The position requires strong troubleshooting, analytic anddiagnostic skills, along with good communication abilities. This positionrequires comprehensive knowledge of Government hardware, software, and networkcomponents. Network LAN/WAN Administrators are responsible for creatingmonitoring reports and managing equipment logs, as well as ensuring the functionalityof links. This position coordinates network administration and performancerequirements with other members of the networking team; identifies, analyzes,and documents long-range requirements, and administers resources related to theenterprise network; prepare technical implementation plans that provideintegrated solutions, including actions, milestones, timelines and criticalpaths required for complete solutions. This position researches applicablestandards and requirements documents to assure network compliance. NetworkLAN/WAN administrators plan for and provide reasonable responsiveness in termsof network performance (e.g., availability, reliability, and throughput). Thisposition prepares activity and progress reports for the Government regardingnetwork performance initiatives.

Typicalduties include:

  • Administeringthe operation of LAN/WAN-related network services according to Governmentpolicies and procedures

  • Coordinatingand implementing network software and hardware upgrades

  • Troubleshootingand resolving LAN/WAN performance, connectivity and related network problems

  • AdministeringLAN/WAN security and malware control measures

Experience Requirements:

Aminimum of four years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in

implementing,administering, performing testing, and analyzing network systems.

Candidates must have experiencewith current technologies and, where required for the task, emergingtechnologies.

Certification Requirements:

  • DoDD8570.01-M IAT II or higher

AND

  • CCNA OR

  • CCDevNet Associate OR

  • ArubaCertified Mobility Associate (ACMA)

EssentialFunctions

WorkEnvironment

  • Workwill be performed inside a large facility. An inside environment may be acubicle (considerations: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dimlighting).

  • Workassignments vary based on client requirements.

  • Workmay include travel with the military to participate in exercises in austereconditions

  • Outsidework may include various environmental conditions including hot, dusty, cold,icy and windy climates.

PhysicalRequirements

  • Sittingat desk. Phone use and PC or laptop. Filing required. May require lifting andcarrying boxes of supplies or files up to 25 lbs. Extended periods of sittingwhile on PC/laptop or phone.

  • Mayrequire climbing, working at heights and in small confined spaces such as underraised floors, inside closets and server racks. Must be able to sit, stoop,kneel or crouch for long periods of time. Work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperature than standardoffice environmental conditions. Lift and transport equipment up to 50 pounds.

  • Generaloffice equipment, which includes: telephone, fax machine, copier, PC/laptop,and other miscellaneous office equipment.

  • Servers,switches, routers and other computer equipment that supports the networkenvironment.

  • Operatinghand tools, power tools, ladders and test equipment.

  • Mayrequire operating motor vehicles.

Attendance

  • Regularattendance in accordance with established work schedule is mandatory.

  • ShiftWork is required to support operations. The candidate chosen for this position will work varying shifts

  • Itis important to be able to work any shift/designated hours required.

  • Youmay be asked to continue performance in support of a war, contingency, orexercise

  • Youmay be asked to continue performance during inclement weather or otherconditions when others are not permitted to work

  • Positionmay require night and weekend work and could include travel with the militaryto participate in operations/exercises located in areas with field conditions

Travel

  • Continentaland Oversees travel may be required. Itis important to maintain a current passport.

OtherEssential Functions

  • Employmentis contingent upon obtaining all required certifications within the timeframespecified in a waiver by the government (if applicable) and maintainingrequired certifications through the duration of the contract. Failure toobtain/maintain required certifications will result in disqualification forthis position and could result in termination.

  • Candidatemust exhibit a professional behavior that promotes teamwork, fosterscooperation, and enhances productivity in the workplace. Must be well organizedwith the ability to coordinate, prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneouslyin a high-pressure environment. Ability to communicate verballyand in writing to work effectively with a variety of government, militaryand contractor personnel at all levels.

  • Candidatemust be able to interface effectively with individuals at all levels of theorganization.

  • Groomingand dress usually business casual, but dependent on client’s standards. Mustnot pose a safety hazard to employees working in the same general area.
