Jacobs is seeking a qualifiedInformation Technology (IT) professional to support the USSOCOM SITEC IIEnterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) contract. Your career at Jacobsenables USSOCOM to fulfill its mission to “Provide fully capable SpecialOperations Forces (SOF) to defend the United States and its interests andsynchronize planning for global operations against terrorist networks.” As amember of our team, you will support the vice president of the EnterpriseOperations Group (EOG) as we partner with SOF military and civilian members toprovide world-class IT services and support that connects over 60,000 usersaround the world in the areas of software development/maintenance, network services,security, end-user computing, and test and evaluation.
Shift work is required to support 24x7operations.It is important to be available to work anyshift/designated hours required to include nights, weekends and holidays. Shiftdifferential will be paid.
The SystemsAdministrator performs tier one and two network support in accordance with theSIE OPORD. Candidates must possess strong problem-solving, analytical andcommunication skills, in addition to in-depth technical knowledge of theGovernment’s systems’ hardware and software. Candidate requirements varydepending on system complexity, the types of operating and network systemsbeing supported, and the size of the organization. A background in the specifictypes of hardware and software systems used by the Government is required.Candidates monitor and control one or more mid-range application servers. TheSA studies program operating instructions to determine equipment setup andoperations. The SA continuously observes the operation of assigned applicationsand storage devices to monitor system operation and determines the point ofhardware or software failure. The SA manipulates systems in accordance withstandard procedures to continue operations when individual units of a systemmalfunction. The SA confers with software systems engineering or applicationsprogramming personnel in the event that errors require a change of instructionsor sequences of operations. The SA maintains operating records such as machineperformance and production reports.
Installing operating system software, patches andupgrades
Analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving systemhardware, software and networking issues
Configuring, optimizing, fine-tuning and monitoringoperating system software and hardware
Performing system backups and recovery
Conducting server builds
Provides systems Administrator support to systemshosting complex operational databases, software configuration control, andsystem interfaces for computer systems
Maintains file servers, network access; documents,analyzes and troubleshoots systems anomalies to ensure optimum equipmentperformance
Required Education: Associate degree; significant relevantexperience will be considered in lieu of formal education.

Work will be performed inside a largefacility. An inside environment may be a cubicle (considerations: closequarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting).
Position will require some night andweekend work.
- Sitting at desk. Phone use and PC orlaptop. Filing required. May require lifting and carrying computer equipment,boxes of supplies or files up to 50 lbs.Extended periods of sitting while on PC/laptop or phone.
