Due to current business opportunities, we are looking to appoint a Senior Project Manager to join our fast-growing Water Infrastructure team. This is an opportunity to join a dedicated and high-performing team of water professionals to deliver a range of significant projects for both public and private sector clients both locally and nationally.

The role is based in our Regional Water team to lead resources based in the Tatura office with a primary remit for water industry clients in regional Victoria. We have a diverse base of water clients across the region and this role will contribute to setting and implementing strategy and capability for this client base, with support from the metropolitan water business.

Senior Project Manager Responsibilities:

The Project Manager is responsible for senior leadership and project / design management in our ANZ Water business. Responsible for leading the delivery of water engineering projects, supported by the Water Infrastructure Section as well as the wider Jacobs business. You will provide engineering management, technical engineering input, business development and leadership to internal and external projects. Work closely with the Water Leadership Team and provide project delivery leadership and supervision of other engineers.

Specific tasks for the Project Manager include:

a) Management and leadership of project teams to interpret and meet client needs through coordination of various internal engineers and professionals, subconsultants and subcontractors.

b) Develop relationships and effectively liaise with clients and stakeholders.

c) Responsibility for management and oversight of project financial and schedule performance, including effective change and risk management.

d) Effective management of our contractual obligations on projects.

e) Monitoring and management of Jacobs and client risks as appropriate to the engagement.

Adherence to Jacobs internal project delivery procedures and requirements including HSE, quality, commercial and sales processes.

Team Leader Responsibilities:

The Team Leader supports the Section Leader (SL) and Director of Operations (DO) to provide leadership to a team within a Performance Unit (PU). The Team Leader role sits alongside your core role and should makeup approximately 20-25% of your day to day responsibilities.

You will support the SL and DO to instil an inclusive culture with the team that value diversity of thought and lives Jacobs’ Culture of Caring. Under your supportive, empathetic and authentic leadership you will use the E3 framework to link the career and performance goals of team members to key business objectives, supporting individuals to build satisfying and meaningful careers while contributing to the profitable growth of the company.

You will support your team to be engaged, resilient and adaptable, and inspire them to strive for innovation while maintaining outstanding project delivery and making disciplined investment decisions aligned with the Focus 20/100 client strategy.

Specific tasks for the Team Leader include:

a) Facilitate day to day workload balancing for the team

b) Review weekly timesheets

c) Support the DO and SL in reinforcing communications

d) Provide day to day guidance to team members on Jacobs processes and systems

e) Conduct assigned E3 conversations with team members and provide coaching and mentoring to individuals to support meaningful career development

f) Working with Client Account Managers and Sales Team to develop teams that support existing and new client relationships.

Here’s what you’ll need :

Qualifications / Experience:

Relevant tertiary education. Maintains professional body accreditation (e.g. CPEng, CEng).

Experience in the planning, design and construction of water infrastructure.

Contribute to successful operation of the Water Infrastructure Section through technical and business leadership.

Knowledge and application of appropriate Health and Safety practices.

Provides leadership to the Water team members, including coaching and mentoring on project delivery.

Takes a leadership role in quality assurance of projects, fully familiar with and apply Jacobs QA procedures.

Provide leadership in own area of specialisation, sharing and applying technical knowledge to address problems and determine actions.

People management skills including effective communication; authentic and empathetic leadership; change management and ability to build high functioning teams.

Determines and addresses underlying client needs. Sets up client feedback systems and confirms satisfaction.
