By joining our Arizona - Tempe team of highway/traffic design professionals, we’ll expand on your engineering analysis and design expertise so we can create sustainable impacts through corridor studies, traffic simulation, traffic signal design, ITS design, Maintenance of Traffic (MOT), transportation impact analysis, pedestrian and transit studies. This traffic work associated with roadway and bridge projects will shape lasting solutions which will ease future commutes.

You’ll be able to showcase your writing skills with report generation on projects with multiple clients; Municipalities and Department of Transportations (DOTs) throughout Arizona and the West.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • BS in Civil Engineering with a focus in Transportation/Traffic engineering discipline is required

  • EIT certification is a plus.

  • Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills.

  • Experience with Traffic analysis software (Synchro/SimTraffic, DynusT, VISSIM, CORSIM, HCS) is required. Ability to enhance current software skills is required.

  • Experience with design software (i.e., AutoCAD, MicroStation, InRoads etc.) and its application in roadway, highway, intersection and interchange design is required.

  • Preparation of technical reports is required eg: traffic impact studies, safety studies, corridor plans, operations analysis, multi-modal studies etc.

  • Knowledge with preparation of plans, specification and estimates to state and local standards is required.

  • Previous work experience with DOT and municipalities is required

  • Experience in conducting traffic engineering projects such as signal timing, signing, striping, and signal design, construction traffic control, is a plus

You will use your technical knowledge and experience to:

  • Perform traffic analysis tasks from data collection, reporting analysis results and writing technical reports.

  • Perform traffic engineering design, calculations, sketches, drawings, technical comparisons and similar technical work as required by assignments.

  • Develop design plans, specifications, and estimates for transportation projects

  • Function as a technical specialist formulating and developing advanced engineering concepts and techniques

  • Maintain effective communication with project team members and with clients

  • Research transit, traffic analysis, traffic operations, ITS and safety issues and work with City, State, and County officials.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in using computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment, Traffic analysis and simulation software, and other office production software to perform engineering tasks
