Your Impact:

We are looking for a Sr. Civil/Roadway Site Inspector, based out of our Toronto, ON office to be responsible for project construction activities. Your role will depend on strength of the inspection team and the needs of each project site.

As a Sr. Civil/Roadway site Inspector, you’ll have the chance to work as an Owner’s representative in the field, providing construction services on major roadway expansion and civil infrastructure projects around the GTA. Working with other members of the team, you’ll coordinate and communicate with all parties on a project, including engineering design team, client project manager, and third parties such as regulatory bodies, testing agencies, contractors, laboratories, etc.

During your time with us, you will ensure construction is in accordance with contract drawings and specifications, keep adequate records of construction activities, prepare reports, logs, photo records, etc, as well as work with an engineering design team to coordinate correspondence such as shop drawing reviews, requests for information, site instructions, and assist in resolving design issues in the field. Under general supervision, you will evaluate, select, and apply standard construction inspections and administration techniques, procedures, and criteria. You have a good knowledge of construction practices and related regulatory and/or industry requirements and practices. You should be knowledgeable with roadway and heavy civil municipal infrastructure construction inspection. Experience related to bridge construction, and other linear infrastructure would be considered an asset. You demonstrate proactive decision making and insist upon high quality implementation of our design in the field.

You are resourceful, independent and willing to go the extra mile to gain satisfaction in implementing an excellent project.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Engineering technology or engineering College diploma or University degree preferred

  • Minimum of 8 years site inspection experience is required

  • Ability to read drawings and specifications

  • Good oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to deal with contractors and outdoor weather conditions in summer and winter

  • Ability to work at heights

  • Valid driver’s license and a car to drive to the site

  • OACETT certifications (RCJI, RCSI, RCCA) considered an asset.
