Jacobs Facilities Contract Administrator in Toronto, Ontario

We are looking for a Facilities Contract Administrator for a number of municipal waste water facilities for our Municipal Clients, based out of our Toronto, ON office. As a Contract Administrator, you will work as an Owner’s representative in the field, on various types of waste water facilities projects, leading other members of the site inspection and support team. You will coordinate and communicate with all stakeholders on a project, including: client project manager, municipalities, design team, pre-purchased equipment suppliers; and third parties: regulatory bodies, municipal and federal agencies; testing agencies and laboratories, as well as contractors.

You will ensure construction is in accordance with contract drawings and specifications; manage records of construction activities; prepare reports; keep logs; prepare change orders and payment certificates, keep photo records, etc. You will coordinate and facilitate with engineering design team review of shop drawing; requests for information; site instructions and assist in resolving design/construction issues in the field. You will evaluate, select, and apply company’s and client’s standards for construction inspections and administration.

You must have: - Engineering and heavy construction experience in municipal waste water facilities - Contract administration of large and complex infrastructure projects, 35M+ - Strong knowledge of means and methods of construction for different waste water processes - Proven track record of delivering heavy construction projects on time and within budget - Demonstrated ability to direct and/ or supervise project teams comprised of 5+ staff - Foresight and balanced judgement in anticipating and solving problems during construction. - Worked as owner's representative in managing construction contracts including: acting as primary point of contract, preparing payments, change orders, time extensions, and certificates of completion. - Performed constructability, tendering, schedule, and budget reviews at preconstruction phases of the project. - Valid driver’s license and a car to drive to the sites - Ability to work at heights.

'- University degree or Engineering technology diploma or demonstrated experience

  • 10+ years construction administration experience is required; prior experience on municipal Wastewater facilities

  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients and contractors

  • Ability to tolerate outdoors weather conditions in summer and winter.

  • Experience working in the GTA is strongly preferred
