The Proposal Manager is a valuable team member within Jacobs' Sales Team who drives strategic pursuits and helps build relationships with our core clients. The Proposal Manager works collaboratively with Sales, Operations and other Proposal and Client Account Management staff to produce original and strategically-focused response documents, such as statements of qualification, proposals and presentations. The ideal candidate is organized, accountable and demonstrates responsibility for meeting deadlines and following through on commitments.

The Proposal Manager’s responsibilities include:

  • Planning, organizing and directing pursuit preparation using applicable tools, guidelines and templates

  • Developing and implementing opportunity response plans and monitoring progress to ensure on-time delivery

  • Organizing and participating in response-related meetings (internal and/or client), such as kick-off, Pink and Red Team meetings and pricing reviews, as appropriate

  • Developing draft sections of sales documents, including original writing, that communicate Jacobs' values and support the sales message

  • Proofreading and editing technical and non-technical documents for accuracy and consistency

  • Undertaking basic graphic design and desktop publishing tasks and working with graphic designers to develop more complex materials

  • Managing production of response documents

  • Championing information management initiatives

  • Conducting appropriate internal/external research and responding to internal requests for information

  • Developing new or updating existing sales qualification materials for current and future pursuit efforts

  • Participating in business development activities as appropriate
