We are looking for Senior Risk Analyst for a large Transit / Rail project located Downtown Toronto.

Jacobs Senior Risk Analyst takes a leading role in the management of project risk through facilitation of regular risk reviews at the contract / project level. This individual is responsible for all day-to-day management of the Active Risk Manager (ARM) risk database in relation to their assigned project scope (including ensuring the required high standard of data contained therein is established and maintained) and quantitative risk modelling for their assigned project scope (both cost and schedule).

The incumbent in this role is also expected to produce detailed project risk reports as required within the program reporting cycle as well as taking an active role in the continuous improvement of the risk management function.

In delivery terms, the Senior Risk Analyst will support the Program Risk Director in ensuring that all program team members comply with the Risk Management Plan and other ancillary risk-related procedures, satisfying the risk management requirements for their assigned scope of work.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

Adherence to the risk management plan, leading activities related to the following:

  • Mitigation Planning and Control

  • Review and Reporting

  • Identification of project risks via workshops with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders

  • Data input to the Active Risk Manager (ARM) database for assigned scope

  • Where appropriate assists in the continuous improvement of the risk management process

  • Interfaces with project delivery teams (e.g. project managers, engineers etc) and the project controls team (e.g. Scheduling, Estimating etc) as appropriate.

Capabilities:

  • Well versed in risk management theory, principles and practice (Essential)

  • Well versed in broader project controls theory, principles and practice (Essential)

  • Highly articulate with practiced presentation and facilitation skills (Essential)

  • Excellent people skills and ability to communicate / interface effectively with a variety of Client Team resources and external stakeholders (e.g. Government representatives) (Essential)

  • Attention to detail (Essential)

  • Demonstrable technical risk management acumen – including the building and running of detailed quantitative cost and schedule risk models and the interpretation of analysis results (Desirable)

  • Confident leading workshops with multiple attendees (Essential)

  • Can address and engage senior client managers one-on-one and in a workshop environment (Essential)

Systems:

Excellent MS Office skills – Excel, Word, Powerpoint (Essential)

Demonstrable experience using industry standard software packages and applications – Active Risk Manager (ARM), Primavera Risk Analyser (PRA), @Risk (Desirable)

Analytical Degree or equivalent qualification (Essential)

Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Engineering, Construction Management) (Desirable)

Experience:

10 years’ experience in Project Controls with a bias in Risk Management roles (Essential)

5 years’ experience in a civil infrastructure / construction project context and/or a program management / project controls environment (Essential)

Experience in a public sector Risk Management role (Desirable)
