We are looking to add another Senior Structural Engineer to join our Toronto team. In this role you will mainly work on industrial, manufacturing and water-infrastructure building projects. This involves complex engineering of the structure and supports for various services for complex steel and concrete structures.

You’ll design unique and challenging projects and perform analyses and investigations to make expert recommendations to clients for various purposes. You’ll develop advanced engineering concepts, techniques, and will maintain effective communication with project team members and with the customer. You’ll lead meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues with them; as well as manage the quality of work and interface with clients.

You’ll also have the chance to utilize your technical expertise to mentor other professionals, helping your team discover what drives them, nurturing their purpose and guiding them forward as well as interfacing with clients in managing the quality of work.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Structural Engineering.

  • Min. 8 years P.Eng. licensed in Canada.

  • At least 12 years’ related experience specializing in the design of complex medium to large scale industrial buildings for commercial or municipal facilities with a focus on complex steel and concrete structures. Experience in water-infrastructure, water-retaining tanks is a plus.

  • Experience in working with architectural and MEP subconsultants with a good understanding of MEP and architectural interfaces and impacts to structural design.

  • Strong ability to problem solve design issues.

  • Experienced in contract administration and support of construction phases, including performing site visits.

  • Experience working with multi-discipline engineering teams.

  • Software knowledge and requirements: Revit, AutoCAD, RAM Structural System, RAM Elements, RAM Concept, STAAD Pro, ENERCALC, etc. Experience with BIM software such as Navisworks or Revit is a plus.
