This position performs in a fast-paced high energy team environment, leading the Project Teams in execution of Alternative Finance and Procurement (AFP) contract administration activities a large regional commuter rail program.
With minimal supervision, this position is responsible for the leadership and management of Project Co submittals in accordance with all company standards and contractual requirements using independent judgment and excellent organizational skills. The incumbent must have thorough knowledge and understand the objectives in contract administration systems (e.g. Unifier, CM14, ProjectWise) and related regulatory and/or industry requirements and practices with progressive experience ideally within major transit infrastructure projects. The position also provides support to the client organization to assist in their capability development in Project implementation.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Highly organized and ability to process and efficiently manage numerous submittals effectively and positively influence Client and Stakeholder team members to comply with the Submittal process as set out in the Project Agreement.
Reviews and responds to project and program correspondence with excellent written and presentation skills.
Able to interact with senior clients and articulate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
Attendance at multiple, different, technical and commercial project working groups.
Receive submittals from Project Co.
Receive, and maintain review comment registers between Project Co, Client, and stakeholder .
Check of Client and Stakeholder comments in terms of technical soundness and compliance with requirements of the Project Agreement.
Positive influencing skills with project team and with relationship with Project Co.
Tracking submittals to completion accordance with the timescale requirements stated within the Project Agreement.
Building excellent relationship with Client, Project Co and Independent Certifier.
Analyze and mitigate risk of delayed submittals and the impact on the project schedule.
Maintain documentation of activities.
Prepare summary reports for Executive Management.
You’ll also need:
BS or MS graduate of an engineering discipline or similar applicable technical discipline.
5 to 10 years’ experience preferred.
Professional Engineer or similar professional license an advantage.
Project delivery using AFP, P3, or other methodologies.
Sound understanding and practical experience of contract administration and document management software, CM14 and Aconex are desired.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in construction and major project environment.
Minimum 3 years working as a Submittals Coordinator, Lead or equivalent.
Broad knowledge of transit engineering, operations, and maintenance.
Experience of engineering design management and review.
