We're a global engineering company offering technical consulting, design, and project management services.

We are seeking an experienced professional to take on the role of Financial Manager. As a member of our Jacobs Slovakia team, you will be responsible for leading and managing financial and facility teams, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and Jacobs policies.

As the Finance Manager for our Slovakia and Czech Republic offices, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations and ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead a team of Financial Accountant, Project Accountant, Project Controller and Payroll Specialist (5 direct reports) and manage a Facility Team (3 direct reports).

  • Ensure application and guidance of US GAAP and Jacobs policies, as well as the application and guidance of SOX controls.

  • Prepare and update pricing policy, ensuring gross margin control.

  • Communicate with local and international auditors and prepare tax documents while assessing tax risks.

  • Maintain reconciliation between local ERP and Oracle systems.

  • Manage and forecast cash flow and conduct Monthly Reporting of Actuals vs. Plan vs. Forecast, including analysis and business reviews.

  • Prepare and monitor budgets, financial, and long-term plans in assigned areas.

  • Collaborate in the implementation of new processes/projects and provide active business support for individual company departments.

  • Handle financial and HR reporting and controlling.

In addition to team leadership, you'll be the subject matter expert for financial tasks, including:

  • Processing AP, AR, and FA requisitions according to assignment.

  • Managing operational cash and working capital.

  • Reconciling balance sheet accounts, reviewing approvals.

  • Preparing and reviewing journal entries and accruals.

  • Reviewing Prepaid Amortization Schedules and monthly Amortization journal entries.

  • Reconciling VAT/CIT/other taxes monthly and yearly, and submitting tax reports.

  • Performing financial statement reviews, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.

  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, relevant accounting requirements, and internal controls.

  • Managing Fixed Assets Register – recording and resolving issues with additions, retirements, disposals, posting depreciation charges.

  • Preparing and reviewing quarterly fixed assets reporting information.

  • Implementing new solutions and tools, submitting recommendations for improvements and actively participating in company initiatives.

  • Collaborating effectively with other departments (Project Accounting, Accounts Payables, General Ledger, Treasury, Tax, Payroll, Credit Cards).

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Master's degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience.

  • At least 5-8 years of professional accounting experience.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

  • Experience with ERP systems (Oracle Financials knowledge is an asset).

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially in MS Excel.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills including effective collaboration in a remote environment.

  • Prioritization in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.

  • Initiative and self-starter attitude.

  • Willingness to support different time zones (approx. 1-3 days per month).
