About the Opportunity

Our Slovakian business delivers a wide range of solutions, across a variety of clients and business sectors through the full project lifecycle from feasibility to commissioning. Our history in working in diverse sectors, particularly in highly regulated industries such as nuclear and chemicals are helping us to develop solutions in challenging environments and to support the focus on clean energy. We have passion to deliver solutions to our clients that are supporting the energy transition through current projects in green hydrogen, fusion technology, carbon capture and utilization, and nuclear.

As a result of an increasing portfolio of projects, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Slovakian Office delivering work across Europe.

You will be responsible for leading the mechanical design development for our projects and will report to our Mechanical Engineering Discipline Manager who will provide you with support and guidance in the role. You will work within a multi-discipline team to deliver the process design and be responsible for a mechanical engineering team for projects that you lead. This will include managing the mechanical design delivery and being responsible for the delivery of key mechanical engineering activities, safety assessments, and taking a leading role in HAZOPs and design reviews. You will be responsible for ensuring our quality assurance processes are followed, that our process design meet the project requirements and our client’s expectations and assuring the technical integrity of our designs.

Your responsibilities will include:

· Producing, checking, and providing technical input to design deliverables, for example:

o Technical Reports

o Calculations

o Drawings & Equipment Schedules

· Delivering in one or more of the following specialisms:

o Process plant and pipework

o Lifting (nuclear and non-nuclear)

o Gloveboxes

o Transport Containers

o Welding / manufacturing (from design)

o Robotics

· Leading functional input to projects, including where relevant leading the input of other (possibly multidisciplinary) engineers, to ensure engineering delivery meets scope, time, cost and quality;

· Supporting the engineering manager in non-project-based activities such as writing procedures, resource planning, establishing policy, budgeting, recruitment etc, to support the drive to continuously improve and optimise the operation of the department;

· Providing functional support and guidance to more junior staff to develop them as individuals and the capability of the team;

· Applying engineering standard and experience to successfully deliver required technical outputs, including associated BIM and digital delivery elements

· Proactively creating innovative options within projects to offer to clients to improve both the chance of winning work and satisfaction with completed, and ongoing work;

Here’s what you’ll need :

· Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

· Good verbal and written English

· Proven ability to deliver technical mechanical design work

· Experience with any of the following tools:

o AutoDesk AutoCAD

o AutoDesk Vault

o Autodesk Inventor


o Navisworks

o Revit MEP

· The ability to identify and deploy, digital and data-based solutions
