As a Facilities Operations Supervisor, based on Tucson, AZ, you will supervise Central Utility Plant (CUP) Operations, Sanitary Water Treatment Plant (SWTP) Operations, and Maintenance Technicians (MT) teams to maintain successful delivery of site utility services 24 hours a day 365 days a year. The CUP, SWTP & MT teams also provide project and technical support for the Environmental Department, Engineering Department, and annual site projects. You will be is responsible for forecasting and managing the CUP, SWTP, & MT maintenance budgets year to year. This is done by managing actual budget spending vs forecasted budget spending and communicating regularly with the Program Manager and Business Controls to ensure the CUP, SWTP, & MT maintenance budgets stays on track throughout the year and come within 2% of budget forecast.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Supervises personnel, which typically includes recommendations for hiring, performance evaluation, training, work allocation, disciplinary and problem resolution.
• Supervises, coordinates, and monitors CUP, SWTP, and Maintenance activities; maintains equipment and performs related duties to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of chillers, compressors, Supervisory Control, and Data Acquisition Systems (SCADA), Natural Gas, Deionized water, Sanitary Waste systems and auxiliary and support systems.
• Oversees operation of campus domestic water systems in accordance with State law and effects changes as directed by qualified Water Systems Operators; supervises domestic cold water, de-ionized water, chilled water, cooling tower water analysis and chemical treatment of industrial water systems.
• Performs quality inspections on completed jobs; ensures conformance with company policies and procedures, building and safety codes, engineering specifications, and local, State, and Federal laws, regulations, and ordinances.
• Analyzes operational data and reconfigures operating units as necessary to provide adequate, economical service.
• Uses a computer to create, compose, and edit technical and/or administrative correspondence, reports, operating procedures, and documentation.
• Safely plan (including the review & sign off of PTP’s & AHA’s), schedule, and monitor all work being performed by contractors and physical plant employees within area of responsibility to ensure that all safety rules & protocols are being utilized effectively as required by Jacobs EH&S and OSHA standards.
• Oversees the overall safety of any personnel working at or visiting the plant(s). This includes weekly safety inspections and monthly safety inspections with the Program Manager.
• Supports and assists maintenance personnel in achieving timely and efficient maintenance schedules; provides opportunities for training on routine prevention maintenance activities.
• Investigates abnormal operating events or equipment failures to determine cause; make adjustments, repairs, and/or modifications as needed.
• Oversees the organization of tool inventory, equipment, supplies, and critical spare parts.
• Ensures proper documentation of operations activities in logs and/or incident reports.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
• Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Operations, Project or Business Management
• Five years’ supervisory experience in a central utilities/operations environment with high level of responsibility. May substitute college years completed for portion of work experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (strong skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point).
• Fundamental understanding of computer maintenance management systems (CMMS)
• O&M managers need to be organized, have attention to detail, and be able to notice changes in operational performance and the relation to site demand.
• Good communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Ideally, you'll also have:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations, or Project or Facilities Management
• 10 years’ supervisory experience in a central utilities/operations environment / facilities management with high level of responsibility. May substitute college years completed for portion of work experience.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
• Work schedule is on site M-F 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• Working conditions are typically in an office environment and some percentage in the field or around the plant operation.
• Punctual attendance is key to success in this position.
• Physical activity may include some or all of the following: bending, stooping, walking, pushing, lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing stairs and / or ladders, sitting for long periods, and typing.

The work areas may be indoor, outdoor, have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, air borne particles, noxious gases, and chemicals. The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact.
