Controls Designer II
JacobsTechnology is looking for a Designer to work in theTullahoma TN office.
This position requires amotivated candidate that is team-oriented, organized, able to communicateeffectively to all levels of individuals within an organization and able tomeet deadlines in a fast paced environment. Thedesignerworks as part of oneor more project teams and is required to report status of present work.
Duties will include:
Providegeneral assistance to technical personnel and engineers
Perform AutoCAD drafting forControl and Data Acquisition projects
Generatedrawings and drawing packages from scratch using Jacobs CAD Standards.
Create panel layouts followingeither company standards or customer standards
Design equipment plan views forelectrical and instrumentation locations
Design detail views and sectioncuts
Create wiring diagrams includinguse of the “snap to grid” tool and object libraries
Create drawing indexes followingcompany standards for index generation.
Note: Specific experience in all duties listed above is not aprerequisite as some of these skills will be developed through specific projectassignments and on-the-job training.

Most of your designs will beunique, and you will usually be working on several projects at one time in adynamic, challenging, and even fun environment. This position will provide you with an exciting opportunity to work witha team of motivated professionals. We are looking for a designer who will workto ensure client satisfaction and deliver projects within scope, budget, andschedule.
Candidate must have certificationof two (2) years training from vocational school or two (2) years of collegewith courses relevant to drafting or engineering principles, plus a minimum ofsix (6) years of
relevant experience. Additionalrelevant education may be substituted for a portion of the progressiveexperience.
Candidate must be experienced withthe use of Microsoft Windows based PCs and AutoCAD computer aided designsoftware. The successful candidate will have an interest and background inelectronics and instrumentation, specifically in control and data acquisition. Candidate must have the ability to read, understand, and createelectrical controls and instrumentation wiring diagrams, panel layouts,equipment plans, and the like.
Must have the ability to workwithin a team environment. Must have the ability to organize work tasks,communicate with customers and suppliers, and be able to lead drafting relatedactivities.
