Fantastic opportunity to join Jacobs in Tulsa,Oklahoma as a Project Manager in our Water Practice Group. The position provides the ability tocontribute immediately to Water and Wastewater project development andexecution of varying sizes as part of a thriving office. Generally, must have experience incoordinating the planning, design, and construction of infrastructure projectsand enjoy client interaction. Position will perform project designengineer, project design staff oversight, quality control, project management,client development, proposal preparation and sales pursuits for a variety ofprojects in the water practice ranging from conveyance projects,water/wastewater treatment, asset management, SCADA master planning, andfacility master planning in Oklahoma. Initial responsibilities will be to assist inthe execution of existing backlog and assist in the development of new workpursuits. Position works under the supervision of the Water Group Manager ofProjects. Familiarity with and/or theability and desire to use production tools and closely coordinate withproduction design staff using CADD systems, computer graphic and designprograms, modeling software and computer equipment are a must.
Interface with the client to ensure expectationsare identified and executed.
Delivering large and/or multiple projects on time,within budget and in conformance with the contract documents.
Providing effective, skilled project managementto help reduce the costs of delivering projects and adding value to thebusiness by applying proven project management techniques.
Functions as a team lead for projects includingacting as the liaison to internal departments as needed. Plan, organize anddirect design staff and key field positions.
Execution of project designs and oversight ofconstruction.
Responsible for project safety when part of ourcontract responsibility.
Responsible for the safety of Jacobs staff.
Participates in corporate initiatives to assistin meeting the company’s goals.
Assesses project requirements, while developingand recommending a sound approach or application to meet the needs of theproject and client.
Ensures that project deliverables satisfyproject requirements and schedule.
Determines, monitors and reviews costs, operationalbudgets, schedules and staffing requirements for projects.
Manages and enhances project quality byproviding ideas and suggestions to the team aimed at improving theeffectiveness of their role and of the project activities in general.
Establishes appropriate metrics for measuringkey project criteria.
Facilitates the creation of communication plans,ensuring that appropriate information is exchanged among key stakeholders, andconducts status review meetings among project team members and clients.
Supervise the work of others when assigned.
Performs other incidental and related duties asrequired.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Civil orMechanical isrequired
Registration as a professional engineer isrequired
Minimum of 15 years experience in the design of infrastructureprojects is required
Experience in water utilities facilitiesconstruction is preferred
Previous experience working with local municipalitiesand utility companies
Ability to utilize computer systems as a tool toeffectively manage projects
Must be able to demonstrate the followingskills; leadership, oral and written communication skills, planning, team work,decision making, judgment and problem solving
Ability to make good presentations andlead/participate in project meetings
Previous experience directing, coordinating, andsupervising a staff including multiple Construction Managers, Office DesignEngineers, Project Control Manager, Contracts / Procurement Manager andmultiple Field Inspectors.
Knowledge of scheduling, spreadsheet, document,and database software (such as Contracts Manager (Expedition), P3E, MicrosoftOffice package, and/or others)
Knowledge of and experience in reviewing andunderstanding a contractor’s Safety Plan and QA/QC Plan.
Must also have experience in reviewing andoverseeing a Document Control Plan, and development / utilization of a ProjectProcedures Manual.
