The Oyu Tolgoi Underground Project is a contract worth $2.8b of surface and infrastructure works in the South Gobi Desert, Mongolia. JACOBS is the lead contractor providing EPCM services which will see us leading the way for over many years to deliver this project successfully and safely.

To date, we have approximately 830 JACOBS staff and contractors supporting this project globally. Onshore locations include Ulaanbaatar and Oyu Tolgoi Mine Site, Mongolia. Offshore locations are predominantly made up by Brisbane Australia, Santiago Chile, Singapore, Shanghai/Tianjin China, with our people also working in South Africa, UK, USA and Europe. With the continued growth of the project, our team has ongoing opportunities in several locations.

We are now seeking to appoint a Care Maintenance and Preservation Officer to join our team on site in Umnugobi, Mongolia.

Reporting to the Site Materials Lead we are looking for a professional who can commence as soon as possible. It is a requirement of this role that the successful candidate is a Mongolian National with good task prioritization and can do attitude. The role will be FIFO 4 weeks on 2 weeks off.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Organizes and manages the preservation activities, including defining needs, establishing preservation database and plans; assigning, training, supervising and evaluating allocated staff and team.

  • Collaborates with teams involved, to implement preservation activity and cataloging of preservation records.

  • Closely collaborate with receiving team to ensure materials storage and preservation assessed correctly.

  • Undertake varied activities to meet project needs.

  • Adhere to materials management processes, policies, procedures and systems.

  • Regularly liase/communicate and consult with manager and key stake holders to report on performance.

  • Ensure compliance with quality standards in all tasks.

  • Assist management/leads with reporting on project data

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Previous experience in construction industry would be advantageous.

  • Self-motivated with demonstrated communication and client relationship skills.

  • Ability to communicate clearly at all levels, set priorities, establish objectives and milestones, estimate times and schedule activities, identify and allocate resources, use project management tools.

  • Understanding Company aligned materials management processes and ability to improve those materials management processes, policies, procedures and systems continuously

  • Ability to communicate and consult with key stakeholders and report on performance to project teams and the Company

  • Strong organisational skills

  • Understanding HSE regulations and standards
