About the opportunity

A key component of any firm’s digital transformation is using data and technology to deliver services in a new way that adds value rapidly to the customer and the company. This could either be delivering an existing service in a better way (automation) or creating a new offering (augmentation). With a seeming abundance of opportunities, the challenge is understanding the business opportunity and scaling the best ideas fast. This means incubating new solutions fast and communicating about these new solutions to users and customers.

We are looking for a digital product manager to lead the development of existing digital products and solutions with Jacobs. The product manager will lead the development of our Aqua DNA platform – an IoT platform to monitor and improve the performance of waste water utility networks.

Whilst the role will sit within the Digital team, the holder will work hand in glove with the Aqua DNA Product Owner in the Water and Environment Operating Unit as well as working closely and overseeing development of the solution in the Digital Factory. This is a key role driving the product management and development of a key growth product which is expected to have growth opportunities both in EMEA and globally.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the product manager will be as follows:

Responsible for defining, prioritizing, planning and driving the execution of the product vision for both the relevant platform and the different products that sit on top of them.

+

“Owning” the product experience and feature set, acting as the product evangelist to build awareness with internal and external stakeholders;

+

Working closely with sales to drive the global commercialisation of Aqua DNA including working with key channel partners.

+

Gathering, analyzing and prioritizing features based on feedback from the end users and customers, the operating units, sales, and the general market;

+

Creating and managing product strategies, roadmaps, project plans and product specifications;

+

Creating detailed product requirements, specifications, business rules, UI/UX wireframe for various user cases with a help of others;

+

Scheduling sprints and feature releases, coordinating closely with Digital Factory on both new features as well as architectural improvements;

+

Take responsibility to act as coach and best practice for other product managers.

+

Driving product release launches and helping to drive the commercialisation of the products

+

Acting as a role model to the whole organisation around lean start up and agile methodologies so that others learn the practices and mindset.

Success Criteria:

The Product Manager will witness the following accomplishments;

+

Create and drive a clear, commercially successful and effective product vision and product roadmap for the relevant platforms

+

Working with colleagues hit the projected GM target for AquaDNA and even greater in FY22.

+

Successfully integrate the different stakeholder views for the product platform so that resources are maximised and the product focuses onto the most profitable areas.

+

The platform and products hit their sales targets and all stakeholders are fully aware of the product vision and plan.

Qualifications

Here's What You'll Need:

  • Significant experience in product management and product development, ideally within the B2B, engineering space and digital solution development

  • Experience working with range of stakeholders in the product development process

  • Excellent knowledge of SCRUM/ Agile/ lean start up methodologies

  • Experience of working in a corporate incubation environment would be desirable

  • Highly organized, with close attention to detail and excellent project management skills

  • Must have past experience within process design skills: ability to define and execute a new process from scratch

  • Has built multiple successful customer journeys before, working closely with Designers and Front-end developers

  • Experience of product management for IoT platforms / data integration solutions

  • Experience of water industry/ other regulated industry environment

  • Experience of sensor hardware/ software integration products

  • Experience of working with 3rd party sensor manufacturers and associated integration.
